Despite receiving a flyer in the mail, I didn’t think to visit Jett Asian Kitchen & Sushi on East Colfax Avenue until a neighbor vouched for it. But now having been there, I’m thrilled to have a reliable spot that dishes up light and inventive Asian (plus sushi) nearby.

I found none of the grease-slicked, overly glopped dishes that dominate the menus at many off-the-path Asian eateries (ahem, Peter’s Chinese Cafe). Instead, the sleek space lends itself to dishes that are artfully presented and thoughtful. Standouts include the generously portioned, tender chicken satay, which tastes of curry (the peanut sauce on the side is some of the best I’ve had). Likewise, the sushi rolls are imaginative and fresh—I especially enjoyed the lobster tempura roll, which is lightly battered and has the unusual addition of mango and lettuce, all wrapped in soybean paper.

FYI: The website is a little funky—the homepage espouses the benefits of joining a hiking club—but my guess is that it’s dummy copy. Nonetheless, the menu tab works just fine.
