The SnowSports Industries America Snow Show wrapped up on Sunday after four days of showcasing the industry’s hottest trends (check out a slideshow from the Denver Post). The Summit Daily News points out that Colorado companies—such as ski-makers Fat-ypus and SkiLogik from Breckenridge, as well as Unity Snowboards in Silverthorne—were all part of the fete.

The Associated Press is impressed with the BBR, a ski with an exaggerated fat tip and narrow waist that draws on surf technology and is supposedly good in hard snow and powder. Following the inspiration of remote backcountry snowboarder Jeremy Jones (of Deeper film fame), the AP also looks at K2’s kit that “turns a ski shovel, skis, and poles into a rescue sled.” Meanwhile, Vail Resorts has announced a partnership with Helly Hansen, making it the official uniform and apparel provider for the company’s six destinations, reports the Vail Daily.
