Remember being a little kid and making ornaments to give as holiday gifts? Well, DIY grew up and got boozy. Treat yourself to one of these experiences and give away your homemade goods.

Beer
Not only does Hops & Berries have everything you need—hops, malts, yeasts, brew kits, and recipes—to make your own suds, but the shop’s experts also offer monthly classes. For a mere $10 you can learn how to brew for the first time. Or, if you’ve got some experience, sign up for a specialty class such as all-grain or partial-mash brewing. Fort Collins too far for supplies? Check out the Brew Hut to find everything you need to begin home brewing.

Hops & Berries, 125 Remington St., Fort Collins and 1833 E. Harmony Road, Fort Collins, 970-493-2484; the Brew Hut, 15120 E. Hampden Ave., Aurora, 303-680-8898

Cocktails
Fancy yourself a bartender? Green Russell‘s four-class series covers sparkling cocktails (Dec. 1), on the rocks (Dec. 8), whiskey and beer cocktails (Dec. 15), and holiday punches (Dec. 22). Classes includes recipes, snacks, and drinks. $35 per class. (Need a nudge? Sip beverage manager Adam Hodak‘s whiskey punch. If it doesn’t convince you to splurge on a class, I don’t know what will.)

Wine

Water 2 Wine will help you design your perfect blend from grapes to label. Pick and crush grapes, pitch the yeast to start the fermentation, and 45 days later, your very own batch of vino will be ready for the sipping. Stop into the shop to taste your creation anytime during fermentation. Keep your eye out: At Vintages Wine in Fort Collins you will soon be able to design, bottle, and bring home your wine on the same day.
