September 28–29 Elk Fest
Estes Park prepares for Elktober, when Rocky Mountain National Park’s wild elk make their way down from the high country for mating season (the rut), with a weekend festival that includes bugling contests, music, dancing, and elk-viewing tours.

Night Skiing Comes to Steamboat Springs
The Steamboat Ski Area will illuminate 1,100 vertical feet of terrain for night skiing this season, making it one of just a handful of resorts to offer after-hours skiing. Five runs will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. from Thursday through Saturday.

Teton Gravity Films Debuts Way of Life
The Wyoming-based film company releases its feature-length film, Way of Life, which takes audiences from Austria to Alaska, and follows the U.S. freeskiing team on their search for Olympic gold. A few of the stars: Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Tim Durtschi, Sammy Carlson, Dash Longe, Dana Flahr, Angel Collinson, Ian McIntosh, Dylan Hood, Max Hammer, and Daniel Tisi.
