Winter weather got you down? Volunteering and helping others benefits psychological health, so here are four ways in the Denver community you can make others—and yourself—feel good this week.

Climb for a Cause: Challenge yourself to a day of indoor climbing for a cause at Denver Bouldering Club’s Heart & Soul Competition this Saturday. For a $35 non-member fee, climbers of different ages and abilities can conquer various routes, replenish tired muscles with food and beverages, and enter in a chance to win more than $1,000 in cash prizes. The club will donate $20 of each entry fee to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Sat 9 a.m.-8 p.m., 2485 W. Second Ave.

Say Yes to the Dress: Calling all brides-to-be: Browse through hundreds of new and gently-worn designer wedding gowns ranging in size (4-18) and budget ($99-$3,999) at the Brides Against Breast Cancer Charity (BABC) wedding gown sale this weekend. For a $40 donation, you can attend the VIP reception and get a first look at the gowns. Or just attend the dress sale for a $7 donation. BABC aims to donate $2 million this year to help those impacted by cancer. Sat 5-9 p.m., Sun 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Antlers Hilton, Colorado Springs

Slope Safety: Before you let your mini-skier hit the powder, make sure they know all the tips and tricks to staying safe on the slopes. To honor National Safety Awareness Week, the Loveland Ski Patrol is offering free kid-friendly snow safety education at the base on the basin. Kids and parents will watch ski demos and learn about sun safety, terrain park safety, and helmets. Sat-Mon 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; Loveland Ski Area

Fine Dining: Enjoy an indulgent dinner prepared by Food & Wine Magazine’s Chefs Club and a silent auction (where you can place your bid on more than 40 vacation packages) at the Moguls of Equality Benefit Dinner this Friday. A part of Gay Ski Week at Aspen, this formal event benefits the You Can Play Project, which works to create equality and safety for athletes of all sexual orientations. Fri 8 p.m.; 315 E. Dean St., Aspen
