We’re back to cloudy days and lower temps, but this week’s full agenda makes for good distraction. Everyone knows about Cinco de Mayo and Kentucky derby celebrations, but if you’re not in the mood for squeezing limes or scouring the city for its largest hat, there are plenty of ways to do good and have fun this week.

‘Do It Up: Denver’s inaugural hosting of the national Breast Cancer Fundraiser event features dancing, a silent auction, and a pink wig installation care of Matthew Morrison Salon—all in support of breast cancer patients. A portion of the cocktail party’s funds go to services that usually aren’t provided through insurance, like transportation assistance and child care during treatment. Thu, 7 p.m; Epernay Lounge

Yay for Neighs: Support Denver’s other broncos at Giddy Up and Go, a family fundraiser for local therapeutic horseback riding programs. Parents bid in the silent auction while the little one enjoy face painting and decorate horseshoes. Later, team up with the kids for the ranch-wide scavenger hunt. Sat, 9:30 a.m-2:30 p.m.; 6351 S. Peoria St., Centennial

Day for the Dogs: Grab the pup and head to Wash Park for the two-mile Furry Scurry trot. After, shop for pooch products at the “Flea-less Market,” or stop by the Zoom Room and see how your pup fares among the pack in a timed obstacle course. Proceeds from the event benefit homeless animals under the care of the Dumb Friends League’s shelter. Sat, 9 a.m; Washington Park

Run for It: Take part in a worldwide effort for spinal cord research right here in Denver with the Wings for Life World Run. Participants will head out at the same time in 35 different countries around the world, which makes for some interesting start times (ours starts at 4 a.m.). The good news: Whether two or 20 miles, runners determine their own finish line. Sun, 4 a.m.; Sports Authority Field
