Many Denver restaurants and diners make conscious decisions to use and consume ingredients that are grown and prepared locally. This applies not only to produce, but also animal proteins. Hoofin’ It is a strolling dinner series that puts an emphasis on using local, responsibly raised animals as its menu’s centerpiece. The philosophy is simple: Respect your dinner.
Past editions of Hoofin’ It have focused on one animal (when I attended in LoHi, it was pig), but the upcoming dinner will see a different animal, along with a beer, wine, or cocktail of your choice, at each restaurant on the circuit. Here’s what you can expect when Hoofin’ It hits Uptown on Thursday, October 23:
This marks the last edition of Hoofin’ It for 2014, but founder Jensen Cummings plans to make it a monthly series next year. The event will start up again in January at Union Station.
