^ 1. Make a simple syrup: Bring ¼ cup water to a boil and add ½ cup Savory’s Black Onyx Chocolate Sugar. Stir until dissolved and cool. Once room temperature, place ½ ounce of the simple syrup, 2 to 3 splashes angostura bitters, and 1 brandied or maraschino cherry in a chilled old fashioned glass. Muddle.
2. Add ½ ounce freshly squeezed orange juice, 2 ounces whiskey (preferably rye), and a few ice cubes. Gently stir.
3. Garnish with an orange twist and a brandied or maraschino cherry. Sip and repeat.
