Food Lover’s Book Club is a bimonthly discussion of a cookbook or food-related book led by award-winning food writer Amanda M. Faison. The free gathering takes place at the Ross-Cherry Creek Library.

It’s picnic season, which means it’s also the perfect time to talk about—and deconstruct—sandwiches. The trick of stacking ingredients between two slices of bread is an age-old idea. And on Wednesday, June 20, food writer Amanda M. Faison and Anthony Lygizos and Luke Hendricks of the soon-to-open Leven Deli Co. will discuss the sandwich’s delicious evolution and its multilayered perfection. The trio will reference the book 300 Sandwiches, a hybrid memoir and cookbook by Stephanie Smith. Bonus: samples!

6 p.m., Ross-Cherry Creek Library, 305 Milwaukee St., 720-865-0120
