Scenes from Inauguration Day: Hancock, City Council, and Clerk Are Sworn In

Denver officials were sworn into office on Monday, including Mayor Michael Hancock, who is beginning his third term, as well as five new City Councilmembers and a new clerk and recorder.

On a scorching morning in Denver, city officials gathered at the steps of the City and County building on Monday as Denver’s new (and returning) leaders were sworn into office. Mayor Michael Hancock, who won reelection in an intense runoff against challenger Jamie Giellis, took the oath of office for his third and final term before delivering ceremonial remarks. Here’s what the day looked like in photos.
