Design History 101: Denver Modernism Week

Calling all history buffs: This 10-day event celebrates midcentury-modern architecture and design in Denver, and the talented design pros who made their mark on the Mile High City from the 1940s through the 1970s. Tour local buildings designed in quintessential mid-mod style, attend a seminar about influential midcentury women, and browse vintage home goods and fashion from dozens of vendors at the Denver Mod Show, held inside Englewood’s Exploration of Flight hangar. Fab Homes: Park Hill Home Tour

It’s no wonder that South Park Hill scored the number-three spot on 5280.com’s “25 Best Neighborhoods In Denver” list this year (and ranked number one in 2020). The charming neighborhood is brimming with interesting architecture, tree-lined streets, and dining hot spots. In its 43rd year, this self-guided tour allows attendees to visit and learn about a handful of Park Hill houses, ranging from storied, century-old manses to modern marvels. All proceeds benefit Greater Park Hill Community Inc., a volunteer-based organization that helps maintain the neighborhood’s beauty and character. September 12; tickets are $15 for adults; parkhillhometour.org
