Winter is never too far off when you live in Colorado. And now, as we do our best to dodge record high summer temps, is the perfect time to start dreaming of powder days to come. Whether you’re a beginner looking for a bargain on your first pair of ski boots or a bona fide bum in search of your next board, score deals on gear for the coming season at Christy Sports’ Powder Daze sale (August 25 through September 4), where you’ll find a flurry of preseason snow sport savings.

“Christy Sports is passionate about getting Colorado natives and newbies out on the snow—but we know it can be an expensive sport,” says Jenn McFerron Sloan, a Christy Sports spokesperson. The Powder Daze sale is here to help soften the blow to your wallet that ski season can bring, especially for families. Shop the sale at Christy’s Littleton, Dillon, West Vail, Steamboat, and Bellevue locations—or online if you prefer to swipe your card from the comfort of your couch.

We got the inside scoop on this year’s event, so if you’re curious what the hottest items at Powder Daze will be, look no further. These are the eight best deals worth whipping out your wallet.

Season Gear Rentals

Dipping your toes into the not-so-cheap sport of skiing or snowboarding? You’d be hard pressed to find a better deal on a full rig—skis or snowboard, boots, and poles—for a season than what Christy Sports will be offering at Powder Daze. Head to the Littleton, Dillon, or West Vail locations to score one.

Want to swap your rental skis for a snowboard? Sure thing. Think you might actually be a size 24.5 instead of a 23.5? No worries; you can exchange sizes and gear anytime throughout the season. Just be sure to bring your whole ski squad to the store because everyone renting gear must be on-site for fittings. Starting at $169 for kids and $239 for adults

Christy Kids Bundles

Avoid shelling out for your kid’s new boots each season and instead opt for the Christy kids bundle instead. You’ll get a season’s worth of gear (skis, poles, and boots) and ski days for a few hundred bucks. Nice: The bundle also includes a season pass to either Monarch Mountain or Loveland Ski Area. You’ll need to head to the Littleton location to score this deal. Starting at $289

Ikon Pass Savings

If you’re eyeing a full Ikon but haven’t pulled the trigger yet, consider buying at Powder Daze at Littleton, which is offering $75 off adult passes, $70 off young adult passes, and $30 off children’s passes. The full Ikon gets you unlimited access to Copper Mountain, Winter Park, and Eldora, plus days at Arapahoe Basin and Steamboat, among many other resorts out of state. There are also slight discounts on base Ikon Passes and a cool $150 savings when you buy an adult pass and kiddo’s pass together. Starting at $1,184 for an adult full Ikon Pass

Season Pass Savings

If you love the low-key vibe of small, independently owned ski areas, take advantage of deals on resort-specific passes or multi-day packs for Loveland, Monarch, and Arapahoe Basin. For the Loveland lovers, score discounts on four-packs, season passes, and kid’s ski and ride lessons—because you’ll have way more fun if you let the professionals handle it. Christy is coming in clutch with especially hot deals for Arapahoe Basin this year, including three-day value packs for $149 (regularly $229), and fall four-packs for $99 (the usual price of the fall three-day pack ). Prices vary

Ski and Snowboard Tune Savings

Have some gear in the garage that could use a little TLC before the lifts start spinning? Any in-store or online purchase made during Powder Daze will get you a coupon for 50 percent off tuning services. Keep your eyes on your inbox for the coupon; it’ll be valid at all Christy’s locations starting October 1.

Custom Insoles

Boots are one of the most essential pieces of ski gear, and if there’s a place to splurge, this is it. Buy yourself a new pair of boots at the Powder Daze sale, and Christy’s will set you up with $50 off any custom insoles, because no one wants to be thinking about blisters on a black diamond.

Deep Discounts on Gear and Apparel

All Powder Daze locations will have a variety of ski gear and apparel available up to 60 percent off. Look for the main players like Patagonia and Rossignol, of course, but Colorado brands The North Face, Obermeyer, Flylow, and others will also line the shelves. The deepest discounts will be on previous seasons’ gear and specific items will vary depending on the location. If you’re looking for a fresh pair of skis or new board, a steal on a demo, or need some new outerwear, hit the sale on the early side to find the best picks.

Ladies Night

Grab your girls (and your gear) and head to Ladies Night at the Littleton location from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30. A $10 donation—which benefits SheJumps, a nonprofit dedicated to getting girls outdoors—grants you access to a tune clinic along with a free hot wax (for your planks…), ski-themed charcuterie from Denver’s Wander + Graze, and entry into a generous gear raffle. And maybe a new slope sister or two?

On Thursday, August 31, Family Night serves up a similar buffet of events catered to kiddos at the Littleton locale from 3 to 7 p.m.
