Forgotten Spaces: Queer Denver

History Colorado Center
1200 North Broadway
Denver, CO 80203

Aug 07, 2021 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Queer folks have lived, struggled, and loved in Denver since before it was Denver, but many of their legacies are now near-invisible, hidden beneath concrete and prejudice. On History Colorado Center’s latest walking tour, the city’s streets become a rainbow palimpsest: you’ll follow the footsteps of early 20th-century gender nonconformists, explore the former law offices of lesbian suffragist Gail Laughlin, and pay fabulous homage at the site of the city’s first gay bar (opened more than 80 years ago!).
