You might normally shy away from overwhelming data sets, complex tasks and tedious labor, but for the five artists in this three-installation exhibition, information is art. See the odes to technology, such as artist Jodi Stuart’s “Pseudo Morph,” a subversion of high-tech tools created by hand-making woven sculptures with plastic filaments intended for 3D printing, and Chad Erpelding’s “Market Watch,” which takes data from Dow Jones, EuroStoxx and Nikkei stock markets and visualizes them in shaded patterns to describe the interconnectedness of global institutions. The diverse work will get you to think about how your daily influx of information could uncover complexity and, ultimately, produce art.
