Berlin-based artist Sarah Schönfeld makes her solo debut in the United States with this fascinating and cerebral exhibit. Playing with themes of futurism, archaeology, anthropology, and outer space, the multi-genre exhibit deals as much in philosophy as it does in visual art. Investigating the idea of the UFO as a manifestation of our modern alienation and anxiety, Schönfeld incorporates cultural rituals to demonstrate her point: At the exhibit’s opening night celebration, the artist invites attendees to throw saucers against the gallery wall, creating pottery shards that will be reassembled on site archaeologist-style. Fri 7:30-9:30 p.m.
