Not only is this June LGBTQ Pride Month, it also marks the 50th anniversary of the impactful Stonewall riots, a protest against police brutality and a pivotal moment in the gay rights movement. To commemorate, CHAC Gallery is presenting this powerful 30-piece exhibition, which will examine how LGBTQ and Chicano/a cultures intersect. You’ll be privy to the work of local luminaries such as Metro State graduate Louis Trujillo and his colored-pencil self-portraits, and Colorado native Linda Jaquez’s striking photography. After you’re done contemplating the pieces, pick up limited-edition design t-shirts or totes, to bring the art home with you.
