Both Christy Lynne Seving and Laura McCracken’s journeys to this emotional exhibit started out shrouded in doubt. Apprehensive about her ability to draw realistic faces, Seving challenged herself to draw a face every day for 80 days, by the end of which she’d have an exhibition’s worth of new work. McCracken set out on a similar path after an injury caused neurological issues. She didn’t know if she’d be physically able to work with her chosen medium of fused glass; now, her layered art is a representation of the time and energy it’s taken for her to heal.
