Connecting the Pieces: Dialogues on the Amache Archaeology Collection
Explore the emotionally compelling stories of life within a Japanese American internment camp at this historic exhibition. Part of a long-term community based research project executed by the Department of Anthropology at the University of Denver, this exhibition features everyday objects from Amache, the site of a World War II Japanese American internment camp in Colorado. Join community members and students at the opening reception to discuss how the objects——such as a 1930s toy steel airplane or a fragment of a traditional Japanese wooden shoe—tell stories and stimulate dialogue about the internment camps across America.
