At this deeply personal exhibit, refugees and immigrants from around the world (including Afghanistan, Brazil, Iraq, Ukraine, Syria, Congo, and Nigeria) will display photography and writing addressed to their pre-migratory selves. The work is part of a local storytelling program called Picture Me Here, which provides immigrants with the creative tools to wrestle with both their past lives and newfound integration into the United States. The exhibit runs until August 25, but stop by the opening reception on Friday to hear the artists discuss how their work helped them gain valuable perspective.
