This past year, artists from across the country sent in their best encaustic paintings (read: work created using heated wax mixed with colored paint) to be judged by Denver artist Pat Aaron. This year, the three winners from that competition—including Colorado’s own Sheary Clough Suiter—will each spotlight eight to 10 pieces at this all-encaustic exhibit. But don’t walk into the gallery expecting a consistent theme; there’s no rules governing what the artwork depicts, except that it’s made using wax.
