Celebrate your favorite canine friends at this art invitational based on the year of the dog. More than 50 Colorado artists (and one from California) will showcase paintings, mixed media, digital illustrations, and other mediums formatted to fit on an eight-inch-by-eight-inch canvas. All the artists have incorporated a canine into their work in some way, either through direct images or symbols that connote what a dog represents. For example, Denver native Lisa Luree painted the skeletons of a dog and a human holding hands (or, er, paws), sending the message that their love for and loyalty to each other will live on forever.
