If your kids enjoyed the Mummies: New Secrets from the Tombs exhibit, they’ll love unraveling the distant history of ancient Egyptians at this hands-on event. Curators will teach them more about the science behind the mummification process and give them a close-up look at several tomb artifacts, including funerary figures and canopic jars (urns used to store remains after a body is embalmed). After the talk, mini archeologists will even have a chance to create their own hieroglyphs. Sat 10 a.m.-noon.
