Frank Buffalo Hyde (#FBH)
In this exhibit, Native-American painter Frank Buffalo Hyde examines contemporary stereotypes of indigenous peoples. The paintings, which are done in Buffalo Hyde’s trademark pop art style, investigate the discrepancies that exist between the ways natives are understood and portrayed in today’s popular culture and within their own Native cultures. Visitors to the gallery will find themselves pondering the extents to which those competing understandings complement and clash with one another. Daily, 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
