After opening ATC Den a year ago, Laura Moretz learned that her great-grandmother had also started her own art museum in the early 1900s. The cross-century connection inspired her to learn more about her ancestor, who despite living in a social climate that didn’t entirely value female contributions, shared a similar entrepreneurial spirit and love of art. At this solo exhibition, Moretz will show off 22 acrylic and mixed-media paintings that contain a comparable style (bold brush strokes) to that of her kindred relative. An opening reception this Friday will include ginger margaritas, catered food from RiNo’s Mondo Market, and a set by Denver musician, DJ Simone Says.
