Time to party like it’s 1599. Boulder’s own Seicento Baroque Ensemble focuses on the musical stylings of the 16th and 17th centuries, and during these performances they will perform the proto-opera form known as the madrigal. The two-act program of comedic narrative pieces (sung by both a chorus and soloists) will be performed at three metro-Denver venues over the course of the weekend—stop by the Saturday show at First United Methodist Church in Boulder for a pre-concert lecture on the madrigal’s history.
