Childhood friends Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing developed a zeal for adventure while growing up in Denver and hiking in the Rockies. When they began dabbling in kid-friendly music, they wanted to inspire other youngsters to experience the wonders of the wilderness. The duo, called the Okee Dokee Brothers, has now won a Grammy Award for their bluegrass- and folk-inspired family tunes, which touch on experiences like canoeing on the Mississippi River. This month, fans can catch the band at L2 Church near City Park for a lively performance—and plenty of encouragement to keep exploring.
