2121 Children's Museum Dr.
Denver, CO 80211
Our children’s museum wants the city to know that its doors are open to everyone—so it’s installed a few more. In response to increasingly negative immigration policies, the museum invited 11 local artists to design doors—from Maeve Eichelberger’s peacock-emblazoned portal to Armando Silva’s doorway declaring “We Are 1″—for a new public art installation. At the exhibit opening, you can interact with the artwork as Mayor Michael Hancock and museum president Mike Yankovich give a talk encouraging viewers to celebrate religious and cultural diversity in the Mile High City. Bonus: The ribbon-cutting ceremony kicks off a pay-what-you-can day at the museum.
