Two local artists, Pamela Gilmore Hake and Kristy Smith, showcase colorful abstract artwork that express their personal, creative inspirations. Hake’s paintings are inspired by natural materials, such as rocks, that she uses her brush to distort while still maintaining some semblance of their delicate patterns. In Smith’s pieces, she makes impromptu choices about the color, shape, and application of paints on the canvas to convey a sense of spontaneity and intuition.
