Admitting that you don’t understand a concept is hard for anyone, no matter the setting. But such confessions are encouraged during this thought-provoking program, which welcomes visitors with early-to-mid-stage dementia and their friends or family members to explore the available exhibits, such as the art of Damien Gilley and the Foothills Art Center: Origin Story exhibit. During their visit, senior citizens can direct questions to Maura McInernery, the curator of education, who trained with the Alzheimer’s Association of Colorado to learn how to make art accessible for those struggling with the life-altering disease.
