New York artist Tara Donovan is known for creating art out of everyday items. At this unorthodox exhibit, expect to see grandiose designs from a sculpture made of plastic tubes to a giant wall covered with neatly arranged drinking straws. The repetitive action Donovan uses to create her work celebrates the way simple tasks (such as stacking index cards one on top of the other, hundreds of times over) can reveal an object’s potential beyond its intended utility.
