When an extremely shy Englishman named Charlie Baker journeys to a fishing lodge in rural Georgia, hoping to escape from his personal problems, he confides in another guest who purposefully tells local inhabitants that Charlie can’t speak or understand English. This plan, which was meant to help Charlie gain a few days of peace and quiet, quickly backfires as people begin to share their deepest secrets with him. The result: an award-winning comedy that examines how we connect with strangers and overcome insecurities.
