Seventy-five years ago, just before the United States entered World War II, Buckley Air Force Base opened in Aurora. Since then, the military landmark has been home to members of the Colorado Air National Guard and established itself as a primary center for missile defense technology. At this exhibit, check out a collection of black-and-white photographs cataloguing the base’s early years and listen to presentations by historians from the 460th Space Wing, the main unit that conducts operations at the Colorado institution.
