With all the excitement of Denver Restaurant Week‘s kick-off on February 23, some of us (that’s a hint, procrastinators) might have forgotten that Valentine’s Day is fast approaching.

If you’re still looking for somewhere to take that special someone, you’re in luck. Some of Denver’s best restaurants have designed special menus just for that romantic night. We’ve pulled together some of our favorites:

Valentine’s Day menu: Four courses for $65 per person (optional wine pairings for an additional $30)

Chef Daniel Asher‘s multicourse menu includes choices of hot-and-sour soup, curried cauliflower soup, salmon crudo, and butternut squash pupusas. Plus: your choice of three desserts.

2030 W. 30th Ave., 303-993-3120

Root Down

Valentine’s Day menu: Four courses for $64 per person (optional wine pairing for an additional $30)

Expect robust dishes such as seared duck breast and butter-poached lobster with exotic mushrooms. For dessert, choose from red velvet bread pudding, the restaurant’s signature banana creme brûlée pie, and a truffle coconut tart.

1600 W. 33rd Ave., 303-993-4200

Cafe Aion

Valentine’s Day menu: Two tapas, one platter, and two desserts to share for $75 per couple

Chef Dakota Soifer‘s vegetarian and lobster versions of Spanish paella encourage sharing. Top off the meal with a choice of dessert that includes rose water and pomegranate crème brûlée or a raspberry cupcake with white chocolate ganache.

1235 Pennsylvania Ave., Boulder, 303-993-8131

WaterCourse Foods

Valentine’s Day menu: Five courses accompanied by wine pairings for $65 per person ($55 without wine pairings)

For their fifth Valentine’s Day anniversary, Watercourse treats guests to a Spanish-inspired, five-course meal designed by chef Rachel Kesley and sous chef Sean Kendrick. Bonus: A flamenco guitarist will be strumming throughout the evening.

837 E. 17th Ave., 303-832-7313

Valentine’s Day menu: Five courses for $49 per person (featured wines will also be available for an additional price)

CafeBar designed a completely new menu so that even frequenters of the neighborhood restaurant can experience it anew. Look for specialties such as roasted beet gnocchi and arctic char with rice pilaf.

295 S. Pennsylvania Ave., 303-362-0227

Beatrice & Woodsley

Valentine’s Day menu: Five courses for $130 per couple, as well as a Beer Lovers Dinner downstairs at 7 p.m. for $77 per person.

Beatrice & Woodsley’s set menu comes with a glass of bubbly for each diner (wine pairings are also available for an additional cost).

28 S. Broadway, 303-777-3505

Valentine’s Day menu: Four courses for $70 per person (or $100 with wine pairings)

Chef Tom Coohill offers nine choices on the prix-fixe menu, including Colorado lamb porterhouse and lobster bisque. The Valentine’s Day menu will be extended until Saturday, Feb. 16.

1400 Wewatta St., 303-623-5700

TAG Restaurant

Valentine’s Day menu: Three courses for $69 per person (or $99 with wine pairings)

Chef Troy Guard’s take on a romantic meal includes Genghis khan-style kangaroo and Berkshire hog leg with miso apple chutney.

Valentine’s Day menu: Diners have the option of ordering a la carte or sharing a four-course meal for $65 per person.

A few noteworthy dishes include the beet and watermelon salad, Chinese braised beef short rib, and a chocolate-covered spiced brownie dessert.

Arugula Bar e Ristorante

Valentine’s Day menu: Four courses for $65 per person with an option to order a la carte.
