Brent’s Place is a long-term home away from home for families and children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses who have to travel to Denver for treatment. In addition to Safe-Clean housing, we also provide a variety of uniquely tailored programs and services for the entire family designed to help in the healing process.
Donn and Linda Eley founded Brent’s Place in 1997 to honor their son, Brent, who passed away at 14 years old after a yearlong fight with cancer. Since then, Brent’s Place has provided long-term housing and supportive programming for more than 1,000 children and families who are far from home. Our 36 Safe-Clean apartments are designed for patients with fragile immune systems and their families to stay as long as medically needed. Our programs such as meals, craft activities and birthday
celebrations grow a sense of community while helping families stay together. Thanks to generous supporters, families staying at Brent’s Place will never receive a bill.
Syndi’s family says: “We are grateful beyond words that we were accepted here. I feel like crying every time I think about it. How blessed we have been. We will never forget our time here. If we lived in Colorado, I would love to volunteer. In many ways, I’ll be sad to leave. Everyone here has become family. Thank you for everything.”
