Angelique Salazar is known for her infectious smile and her entrepreneurial spirit, and she applies both to the Denver community. As a Colorado native and former restauranteur, she’s passionate about creating opportunities that blend neighborhood, community and business. She’s also passionate about dogs, and that’s why she started U Lucky Dog (ULD) daycare in 2010 in central Denver’s Fox Street neighborhood.
This Colorado native has nurtured ULD into an award-winning indoor/outdoor facility for dog daycare and overnight boarding. She and her more than 40 employees have created a safe yet controlled environment for dogs; this led ULD to win a 5280 Top of the Town Award for Best Doggie Daycare.
As a premier doggie daycare, ULD features a large pool so pets can swim and play in the water. Dogs love it and owners are seeing the health benefits. Angelique also understands the concerns of owners with small dogs and provides a separate area for the “littles,” including a supervised interactive ball pit.
Her love of animals led to her appointment in 2019 as an ambassador and advocate to the Denver Zoo Leadership Council.
Angelique strongly believes that taking care of animals as well as her community is vital to enhancing the collective well-being of families. And when you see her in the neighborhood, you can’t help but smile.
