The Face of Interior Design

DesignDiva 5280

Kimberly Teter has been successfully running DesignDiva 5280 based on referrals for over 20 years. She is an expert in all areas of interior design offering services in space planning, textiles, color, material selection, furniture, lighting design and window coverings. She also specializes in kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and material and finish selections for new construction. She has been featured on HGTV, Better Homes and Gardens, Best of Boulder County, and received HOUZZ awards in 2016, 2018, and 2019.

Kimberly had a unique start in the industry. After being laid off from a pharmaceutical company she started working for a developer doing marketing and sales. After a short period of time, she found herself helping builders and homeowners create and refine their space plans. After designing 3 homes, she decided to go back to school and earn a degree in interior design. “I find it interesting. There are so many facets to interior design. When I was in interior design school one of my first classes was history of design. I knew I had found my calling,” says Kimberly.

One of her unique skills is helping clients create a design roadmap for their interior projects. “I like to map out a project and then set stages because not everyone can implement their entire project at once.” Says Kimberly. From that map she will then work to coordinate each space with details that reflect the unique personality of her clients while making suggestions that might push comfort levels and create fresh ideas. Kimberly also likes to design interiors around lifestyles but still keep things that are important to each person. “If you really love something in your home, a good designer will know how to make it work.”
