There are plenty of fine local races for charity, and most of them come with a hefty registration fee. But the Parr-Widener Walk-Run, a 5K for both walkers and runners that takes place at the City Park Fountain on Sunday, has no fee beyond asking for a donation of your choice.

All donations go toward the A+ Angels Mentoring Program at East High School, which pairs members from the community with high school students in an effort to improve attendance and grades.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. on Sunday, and the walk-run begins at 9 a.m. For more information, visit eastangels.org.
