Sushi Den draws fish lovers to Platt Park from miles around. Part of the reason is the impeccable seafood brothers Toshi and Yazu Kizaki have been sourcing from Japan’s Nagahama Fish Market since 1984. There’s also the expert service, the tempting sake list, and the sweet anticipation that washes over you as you settle into a coveted seat at the sushi bar or—if you’re truly lucky—at Toshi’s private chef’s table for an omakase experience par excellence. But really, it’s the combination of those things, plus the exquisite nigiri, sashimi, tempura, and ramen Sushi Den faithfully serves, that has made the Den a true Denver institution. $$$, 1487 S.
