Teaching kids important safety skills is often more nuanced than a stern “don’t talk to strangers” talk, which is why Kidpower of Colorado, a local center of the international nonprofit that teaches crucial safety education, is hosting a learning session for children and their caregivers at Aspen Academy in Greenwood Village. There, through upbeat messaging that isn’t fear-based but skill-based, kids from first through fifth grades learn how to deal with potentially dangerous situations and how to avoid abuse, harassment, and bullying. The sessions are split over two days (February 27 and March 5) and space is limited, so be sure to register ASAP.
