After a year hiatus, Meadow Lark Farm Dinners’ wildly popular al fresco evenings return to the Front Range. Director Veronica Volny is currently working on the June—October schedule of weekly dinners in which diners gather at community tables set in the fields of local organic farms. These events are magical with meals comprised of produce picked from the surrounding land and discussions with the farmers and producers whose food you’re enjoying.
Each season, Volny recruits a talented chef to man the burners. Meadow Lark’s kitchen is mobile—in a beloved old school bus named Bella—that drives from farm to farm. This year Alberto Sabbadini, a well-traveled chef from the Friuli region of Italy, will oversee the dinners. Sabbadini’s vast experience includes cooking all over Europe and tapping into renowned kitchens and chef gardens in Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, and beyond. Eventually, he moved to Colorado and joined the Kitchen staff as executive chef of the cafe, Upstairs, and Next Door. No doubt Sabbadini’s experience will pay off in the form of thoughtful, well-crafted dishes ideal for the bucolic settings.
