Slopestyle: Apps for Skiers and Boarders

Looking for fresh powder, new mountain friends, or to outdo your personal best in vertical feet? There's an app for (all of) that.

By |

Coloradans are cheering as the final batch of ski resorts are finally powering up their lifts. With more snow expected in the high country this weekend, it’s time (if you haven’t already) to wax your boards, dust off your goggles, and check the I-70 traffic report. Here, a sampling of our favorite snowsport apps to make your mountain experience even better.

Ski Tracks

Andriod & iOS, $0.99

Last year’s “it” skiing and snowboarding app—its developers tout it as the most downloaded ski app in the world—is back for another season. Simply hit record as you load onto your first lift and the app will track your every carve and bump. You can review your accomplishments in real time, including your speed in miles-per-hour or vertical feet traveled (it records data for up to 14 hours straight), without eating up data because it doesn’t require a signal to work. It also promises to be battery friendly.

Touch Ski 3D

iOS, $2.99

Kill time between runs with Touch Ski 3D. The gaming app offers more than 40 simulated courses and seven game modes, as well as live news and video from the Ski Channel. Tear it up with branded skis (K2, Head, Salomon, and more) as you race through terrain parks and over ski jumps to win the top spot.

Ski and Snow Report

Android & iOS, Free

Colorado weather is notoriously unpredictable. Don’t waste time waiting for your weather app to feed you potentially inaccurate data—without snow-specific info. Instead, open Ski and Snow Report to quickly get all the details on snowfall, temperature, and overall conditions at your favorite resort.
