Events to Attend

Cocktails for a Cause: Spend a guilt-free evening sipping on serrano chile mango margaritas for a good cause. Really. While you down a delicious concoction, you’ll be benefiting The Rise School, a therapeutic preschool in Denver for children with and without development disabilities. Don’t forget to bring a donation from the CFAC list, including everything from baby wipes to Play-Doh. Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.; Wings Over the Rockies, 7711 E. Academy Blvd.; $10 entry, plus donation

Denver Sky High Rotary Pig Roast and Corn Hole Tournament: Corn hole culture is finally finding its place beyond the bar. Denver Sky High Rotary Club is hosting an evening of corn hole with a side of farm-raised pork. With every toss, you’ll be helping the End Polio Now Campaign, which aims to eradicate the disease worldwide. Tuesday, 4–9 p.m.; 23rd Avenue Sculpture Garden, 3500 W. 23rd Ave.; $25–$40

Climb for Courage: Dare to care (and climb more than 2,700 stairs) for Children’s Hospital Colorado. Your registration, plus the minimum required fundraising amount of $50, will go toward the construction of the new Children’s Hospital facility in Colorado Springs. Saturday, 8 a.m., U.S. Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium, 2169 Field House Dr., U.S. Air Force Academy, $20–$35, plus fundraising

Cannabis Charity Open: Get high on giving and golf at this charitable event. While you perfect your swing, proceeds will be donated to the Denver Colorado AIDS Project, a community organization that provides services for and educates those who are living with HIV/AIDS or are at risk of contracting the disease. Saturday, 1–5:30 p.m.; Park Hill Golf Club, 4141 E. 35th Ave.; $120–$420

Fire and Ice Gala: Denver comedian Abby Alt will tickle your funny bone as you throw one to dogs in Denver. This fifth annual event benefits Big Dogs Huge Paws, a Colorado-based organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and finds homes for large breed dogs. Saturday, 6–9 p.m.; Renaissance Hotel, 3801 Quebec St.; $50-$500

Causes to Care About

Gently Worn: Your gently worn clothing can help those in need (and get you a sweet discount). J.Jill women’s apparel is encouraging customers to bring in their used cardigans, capris, and more (of any brand) to be donated to local charity partners across the country. Plus, for every item donated, you’ll receive a 30 percent off voucher for a single, full-priced item. June 16–June 29; store hours and locations vary
