3 Unique Indoor Workouts to Stay Active This Season

Just because it's getting colder outside doesn't mean you can't still find your endorphin bliss.

Now that fall is finally here (read: the aspens are in full bloom!) and temperatures have started to drop, getting your daily fitness fix might not be quite as easy as heading outside to hike or climb. Fortunately, a boutique gym that offers your favorite indoor workout has probably opened in the last couple of months. Here, our picks for the best new places to stay in shape until the mountains welcome you back for ski season.

TerraFly Pilates

Regimen: Pilates

Neighborhood: Baker

Class Pick(s): tfJumpboard & Abs, in which a board attaches to the end of the reformer for, well, jumps (read: added cardio bursts) and tFly Bros & Beers, a 55-minute strength-building class designed for men, with post-workout beers that owner Yael Trainer brings herself.

Closet Extender: Walk out of Trainer’s studio with a stronger bod and new threads to show it off: TerraFly boasts tanks and leggings from Denver-based clothing line Peach & Pepper Apparel, including a pair of blue-and-black pants with ladder cutouts exclusively sold there.

Define Body & Mind

Regimen: Everything from cycling to barre to trampoline cardio

Neighborhood: LoHi

Class Pick(s): Define mind-hammock class (think: aerial yoga but with suspension training techniques in place of pigeon pose). Look out for Define bounce, a workout that combines moves on a mini trampoline with light free weights and resistance bands, which will be added to the schedule later this year.

Whole Body: Upcoming cooking demonstrations and diet advice during regular workshops at the studio will make addressing your health from multiple angles that much easier.

Shift Cycle & Fitness

Regimen: Spinning

Neighborhood: Stapleton

Class Pick(s): The rotating themed sessions; check the schedule each week to see what’s coming up, but our current favorites are the Trump vs. Hillary Battle Ride (October 20) and Shop ‘n’ Spin, hosted by RiNo boutique Meraki Moon (October 26).

Baby Sitter: Shift caters directly to Stapleton’s families-with-small-kids aesthetic by offering regular childcare options for morning and night classes Monday through Thursday and once a day on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
