What’s spring break (or any day on the slopes) without a Bloody Mary mid-morning, at lunch, or for après-ski? For the best Breckenridge has to offer, stop off at Robbie’s Tavern, which sits slopeside inside the brand-new Grand Colorado Resort at the base of Peak 8.
Called the GC8, this pint-size cocktail comes topped with a speared pickle, pepperoncini, and olive, plus a piece of candied peppered bacon and a lime wedge. Squeeze the lime over the top, gently stir, and sip for a briny, spicy, meal in a glass. At $10, this is one of the best deals on the mountain.
Bonus: Don’t skip Robbie’s chicken drummies, which are frenched to the point of looking like little delicious cavemen clubs. The drumsticks are dry-rubbed, oven-baked, and then flash-fried to order and shellacked with one of three sauces. The hands-down winner of the sauce trio is the slightly spicy and sticky pineapple Thai chile.
