One night not long ago, my friends and I were suffering through a bad meal at a restaurant (which I won’t name here). But then, clarity: We hadn’t ordered entrées yet, so we didn’t have to stay! Instead, we paid the bill and resuscitated our evening at the wonderful Beast & Bottle. Co-owners and siblings Paul and Aileen Reilly (who also own Coperta) and their hospitable staff treat you like you should be treated. The welcome is sure to be warm, the service knowledgeable yet relaxed. Paul brings a nose-to-tail, scratch-made lens to the food; any of the pork dishes and all of the salads have been impressive on recent visits. Beverage director Jon Feuersanger draws regulars and newbies alike for his inspired creations. No matter the occasion, Beast & Bottle is always a good idea. 719 E. 17th Ave., 303-623-3223
