Don’t Miss: Brother Luck’s Top Chef Sandwich at Rhein Haus

The season 15 contestant’s bacon jam-topped bratwurst goes on the menu tonight for an episode six viewing party.

If you’re following this season of Top Chef (which was filmed in Colorado), then you’re already familiar with Brother Luck. The Colorado Springs-based competitor—along with Denver’s own Carrie Baird—is still in the running to win the coveted Top Chef title. And tonight, we get to watch Luck and Baird duke it out with the other cheftestants in episode six, “Now, That’s a Lot of Schnitzel,” filmed at LoDo’s Rhein Haus and Elitch Gardens.

To celebrate, Bavarian-inspired Rhein Haus is hosting a Top Chef viewing party at 8 p.m. this evening, January 11. The no-ticket-required event is first-come, first-serve. Stop in and play a round of bocce ball at the indoor courts, grab a pint of Denver Beer Co.’s Pretzel Assassin lager, and settle in to cheer on our home-state chefs.

What’s even better than beer and televised competitive cooking? Sausage sandwiches, that’s what. Which means you must be sure to arrive at Rhein Haus hungry so you can sample its new “Top Chef Wurst,” created by Luck in conjunction with Rhein Haus’ executive chef, Pete Fjosne.

The specialty item sells for $14 and features a German cheddarwurst patty…of sorts. The cheddarwurst is sliced thin—hence the sandwich’s burgerlike appearance—to create a base for, among other things, Luck’s signature bacon jam. “I’ve had a bacon jam burger on my menu since I started my restaurant,” Luck says, “and it’s a true reflection of my urban cooking style. Sour pickles with caramelized bacon, a fried egg, and sour cream just felt like the perfect bridge to a German cheddarwurst.”

This only-in-Colorado creation will be available at Rhein Haus throughout Top Chef season 15, which comes to a close in mid-March.
