House Passes No Smoking Ban

The Colorado House "tentatively" passed a state-wide no smoking ban Tuesday after restoring a provision exempting bars that had been dropped by the Senate. The bill now goes to the House for a second vote and then back to the Senate. The version passed by the House contains these exceptions:
The smoking lounge at Denver International Airport, casinos and race tracks outside the eating areas, bingo parlors and cigar bars.
Cigar bars are exempted but bars that allow cigarette smoking are not? Doesn't that strike you as a tad sexist? Wait, there's one more exception:
It also allows an exemption for hospices, where people are dying, often because of their smoking habits.
Think about this for a minute. Now exhale.
Comments

Sexist? Are cigar bars banning women from entering? Isn't the sole purpose of a cigar bar to smoke. I'm assuming that cigar smoking at every other establishment carries the same ban as cigarette smoking. Did the legislation make any gender specific implications? P.S. I smoke neither cigars, nor cigarettes.
