Calling All Churchill Addicts
If you haven't yet had your fill of CU Ethnics Studies Professor Ward Churchill, the Rocky Mountain News today begins a five-part series on the controversial professor. Several News' reporters spent the past two months exhuastively investigating Churchill and his writings. Part One of the series is online here. The tag to the headline reads :
A News investigation of the charges before a CU panel reveals strong evidence of possible misconduct by the professor.Shorter version: We think he lied his a** off, but we can't prove it and we don't want to be sued by his lawyer, David Lane. My view: The coverage is excessive. The only real issue of interest should be the academic freedom issue. But this will feed Caplis, Silverman, and O'Reilly for a full week, and bring the paper lots of national publicity. Score one for the News.

Many people know he lied his asterisk off. PirateBallerina.com uncovers those lies.
And just for the record, no one cares all that much what he said in his "roosting chickens" essay. More incendiary remarks have appeared in Reader's Digest.
You could call his essay the match he dropped into the forest of his own fabrications.
