Patio Time: Vine Street Pub

This time of year, happy hour demands a sun-drenched patio. We're always on the hunt for the best spots, and our recent fave is found at Vine Street Pub in Uptown. The two-month-old neighborhood pub (courtesy of Boulder-based Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery) does brisk outdoor business, what with two patios, 21 beers on tap, and an affordable menu of burgers, burritos, and veggie specialties like the Rueben (beer-baked tempeh stands in for corned beef). The staff's willingness to let you linger over your suds is both a blessing and a curse, depending on whether you're chillin' or waiting to chill. But once you score a table, it's certainly worth the wait. Note: Vine Street does not accept credit cards; bring cash or plan on using the in-house ATM. 1700 Vine St., 303-388-BEER (2337)

In Boulder, these guys are known as the "Beer Nazis". They have essentially banned almost all "regulars" from Southern Sun and Mountain Sun because they want to cater strictly to families. If you start to "hang out" at Vine Street Pub, you will likely be banned by the Beer Nazi. Heil Kevin!

...on the internets, you're known as that hater that nobody listens to. enjoy your basement. we'll enjoy moutain sun.
