Lunch News: Masterpiece Delicatessen

Denver may have a plethora of delis, but only a handful build a truly memorable sandwich. Enter the six-week-old Masterpiece Delicatessen in Lower Highland. Located near the pedestrian bridge, the deli may smack of yuppiness, but it does so while dishing up crazy-good eats. We tried the black truffle-egg salad--creamy, decadent egg salad touched with black truffle and served on toasted bread--and the roasted turkey sandwich stacked with pears and arugula. An excellent and addictively fresh pasta salad (mayo-free!) came alongside. We hear the braised beef brisket with red wine gastrique and the Cubano sandwich with slow-roasted pork are also tops. …Next time. 1575 Central St., 303-561-3354
